Pushbikes have been open since 2001, when owners Richard and Amy Allin purchased an existing cycle shop located in Rangiora. ‘I had been working in the bicycle industry in Central Christchurch and wanted to bring my expertise and the best brands direct to the public in North Canterbury. This would mean residents would no longer need to travel to Christchurch for top service’ - Richard. Pushbikes rapidly grew and due to demand then from Christchurch customers in September 2006 it opened the second store in Papanui, Christchurch. Over the years Pushbikes has remained extremely active in the sport, with the running of successful MTB events, ‘The Yahoo Challenge’ and ‘The Lees Valley Challenge’. Also, Richard and Amy formed the ‘North Canterbury Cycling Club’ and Team Pushbikes which is a sponsored development team for Junior cyclists wanting support in fulfilling their goals in cycling.

We pride ourselves on your experience while visiting Pushbikes.  We offer a relaxed and no pressure environment with all the latest products and accessories. You won’t be jumped on for a sale when entering the store, instead we’ll let you browse, ask questions and make you a coffee.

The team at Pushbikes is just not business owners or sales people. Our team consists of World Record holders, New Zealand Representatives, Triathetes, Roadies, Mountain Bikers, and Downhillers. We know about, but more importantly we are enthusiastic about riding bikes and with all this experience we can offer you the right advice the first time.

If you need technical advice then ask our mechanics, they are both experienced and up to date with the  latest developments. They attend training courses every year to ensure they keep up their knowledge of all the latest products including those from Shimano, Sram, Fox, RockShox, Giant and many more. Every bike that is sold by Pushbikes receives free backup servicing and a full warranty provided by both the brands we stock and also through our workshop and mechanics.

At Pushbikes we also offer a range of Finance contracts to suit your needs. These include interest free with up to 3 years to pay, no deposit finance or another contract suited to your individual needs. This is a great opportunity to upgrade or purchase a new bike without straining your wallet. We also offer Layby on all goods with up to 3 months to pay (conditions apply). This is a great way to secure a new bike for Christmas, and pay this off while we store it for you. We even offer free storage if you prefer to pay for goods out right.
