Shimano Cues Di2 RD-U6070 Shadow 11 Speed Rear Derailleur

The rear derailleurs of the Shimano CUES series are not only designed to achieve optimal pedaling support in conjunction with the STePS components, their automatic shifting function also increases the concentration for what lies ahead. Manual corrections are nevertheless possible at any time, so that the rider always retains full control.

The CUES RD-U6070 rear derailleur is designed for electronic 11-speed Di2 shifting systems and adapted for the use with LinkGlide cassettes (11-50 teeth). Equipped with an EW-SD300 connection and suitable for Shimano EP801 and EP600 E-Bike drivetrain systems.

The two functions that provide smooth, fluid and intuitive shifting are called AUTO SHIFT and FREE SHIFT. While AUTO SHIFT helps Trail bikers maintain their flow uphill and downhill as well as in transitions, FREE SHIFT allows the E-MTB to exit any incline or turn in a controlled manner, as no pedaling is required during shifting.

The technical prerequisite is the use of multiple system sensors to continuously determine cadence, torque and speed. Based on this data, the most suitable gear is selected automatically.

AUTO SHIFT | The function measures the rider's pedaling dynamics to decide on the appropriate gear ratio and automatically perform shifting operations. As cadence and speed decrease and torque increases, the system selects an easier gear. When starting off and accelerating, the system in turn automatically shifts up. This not only increases riding comfort, but also ensures a smooth and consistent cadence during climbing as well as descents.

FREE SHIFT | This function enables the drivetrain system to perform shifting operations without the use of pedal force. For this purpose, the drive unit emits just enough power at idle to trigger a shifting operation at the cassette without affecting the acceleration of the bike. In downhill use, there is thus more time to plan the right line and to take a more stable riding position.

Shadow RD | With their sophisticated technology, Shimano Shadow RD rear derailleurs are especially intended for more aggressive riding style. Their super low profile design carries many benefits. Thanks to the low profile and a single tension construction, the derailleur does not hit the chain stay in rough riding conditions. The result is smooth and silent performance.
