Part-time Team Member – Rangiora & Papanui

We’re on the lookout for part-time team member(s) to join our Pushbikes Rangiora store. If you’re enthusiastic, reliable, and love being around bikes and people, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

  • Be a friendly face on the sales floor and help our loyal customers.
  • Assemble bikes and handle light mechanical repairs to keep things interesting.
  • Share your cycling knowledge and passion with a team that’s just as bike-mad as you are.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous retail experience (or the willingness to learn quickly).
  • Strong communication skills and confidence to think on your feet.
  • A genuine love for bikes and good knowledge of cycling gear.
  • Comfortable using digital tools and computers.

Availability

Rangiora: 6.5 to 15 hours per week, with regular shifts available on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays (you can take one or both).

Papanui: 5.5 per week, with a regular shift on Sundays and flexibility to add more shifts during the summer months.

Additional hours are available during the summer holidays — perfect for extra cash!

Full-time Bicycle Mechanic - Rangiora

Full-time role • $60–70k+ depending on experience • Be part of North Canterbury’s cycling community

An exciting opportunity now exists to join the Pushbikes Rangiora team as a Bike Mechanic. You’ll be part of a fun, dynamic crew selling and servicing industry-leading products that support a healthy lifestyle in the thriving cycling industry.

What You’ll Do

  • Take ownership of bike repairs and service work, ensuring every bike leaves in peak condition.
  • Handle workshop bookings, quoting, and customer communication.
  • Educate and support customers with technical advice.
  • Manage workshop stock for repairs and special orders.
  • Work to a booking schedule while maintaining high standards.
  • Provide friendly, helpful service that builds long-term customer relationships.
  • Support the wider team with sales and customer service when needed.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven mechanical experience working on bikes.
  • Previous cycling industry experience (highly regarded).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and time management.
  • Excellent communication skills for customer service and teamwork.
  • A passion for cycling across MTB, e-bike, road, and family categories.
  • The ability to explain technical details in a clear, customer-friendly way.
  • Flexibility to work some weekend days (we’re open 7 days).
  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to adapt as the business grows.
  • Industry certifications (e.g. Shimano, SRAM, Bosch, Trek, Giant) are a bonus — but not essential.

Job Details

This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday with the occasional weekend shift to provide cover when required. The salary range is $60,000 to $70,000+ per year depending on experience, with the role available for an immediate start or as soon as the right person is ready to join us.
