Bombtrack Beyond 1 Adventure Bike

The Bombtrack Beyond 1 is a drop-bar expedition bike built for long distances on unsealed roads. Frame and fork are both 4130 double-butted chromoly with thru-axle dropouts, a generous spread of bottle and rack mounts, and internal dynamo cable routing that keeps wiring out of harm's way. Microshift's Sword 2x10 groupset combines a 40/28T crankset with an 11-38T cassette for genuinely low touring gears, and TRP Spyre C mechanical callipers are simple to service anywhere. Wheels are size-specific, with 27.5" on XS and S frames and 29" on M to XL, both shod with 2.0" WTB Ranger tubeless tyres.

Who Is the Bombtrack Beyond 1 For?

This is a touring and bikepacking bike for riders planning trips measured in weeks rather than hours. The low 28T inner ring with a 38T sprocket gives gearing that still works when the bike is loaded and the road kicks up, and mechanical brakes and cable shifting can be repaired with basic tools a long way from a bike shop.

The 140 kg rider-and-luggage rating and full mount set suit heavily loaded New Zealand touring, from the Tour Aotearoa to backcountry station roads. The flared travel bar adds control on loose descents, and 2.0" Ranger tyres give a comfortable ride and real grip when the surface turns to coarse gravel or clay.
