The Trek Domane SLR 9 AXS is Trek's flagship endurance road bike, built from 900 Series OCLV Carbon and matched with a full SRAM RED AXS wireless groupset and an integrated power meter. Where the Madone chases outright speed, the Domane trades a little aero efficiency for comfort and control, with clearance for up to 40mm tyres, mounts for frame and top tube bags, and a more relaxed endurance geometry. Paired with Bontrager Aeolus RSL 51 carbon wheels, it's built for riders who want race-level components over long days in the saddle, well suited to New Zealand's gran fondos, long club rides and rougher back-road seal.

The Domane SLR 9 AXS suits riders who want the performance of a top-tier carbon race bike but spend more time on long rides than short, sharp races: gran fondos, all-day bunch rides, or riders who value comfort as much as outright speed. It also suits racers who want one bike that can handle rougher chip-seal and gravel-adjacent roads without giving up wireless SRAM RED shifting or a power meter.
In New Zealand it's well suited to multi-day gran fondos, long club rides through the high country, or training on rougher rural seal, where the extra tyre clearance and more forgiving ride quality pay off. The 40mm tyre clearance and bag mounts make it a genuine one-bike option for riders who want to occasionally load up for a longer day out. As a Project One build, crank length, bar width, tyre choice and paint are all yours to specify before it's built.
