The Trek Madone SLR 9 AXS 1x is the lightest Madone Trek has ever built, claimed at just 6.4kg, achieved by pairing the 900 Series OCLV Carbon aero frame with a SRAM RED AXS 1x12 wireless groupset, lighter Bontrager Aeolus RSL 37 wheels and a stripped-back single-chainring build. It keeps the same Full System Foil aero tube shaping and IsoFlow comfort as the rest of the SLR range, just built as light as possible for riders who want to fly up climbs without giving up the Madone's aero credentials. For NZ riders chasing hilly club races or a genuine weight-weenie build, this is Trek's lightest disc road bike, full stop.

Who Is the Madone SLR 9 AXS 1x For?
The Madone SLR 9 AXS 1x is for riders chasing outright climbing performance who still want an aero race bike underneath them: hilly criteriums, mountainous road races, or riders obsessed with shaving every possible gram. Running a single chainring simplifies the drivetrain and shifting at the cost of some gear range compared to the standard 2x SLR 9.
It suits experienced racers in New Zealand's hill climb events and mountainous club races, where the lighter build and 37mm wheels pay off on the way up without giving away too much on descents. The integrated SRAM power meter means you can track and train off real numbers straight out of the box. As a Project One build, wheel depth (37mm or 43X), crank length, bar width and colour are all yours to specify before it's built.
