The 2022 Giant Talon E+ and LIV Tempt E+ hits the mark between performance and value for money, starting from just $3,699. Using Giant's 50Nm SyncDrive Core motor, paired with the RideControl remote and 500Wh EnergyPak battery, delivers up to 300 per cent tunable support all while you explore the trails.

SyncDrive Core Motor

All models of the Talon/Tempt E+ use the SyncDrive Core motor, made by Yamaha. Its lightweight and compact, delivering 50Nm of torque, making it ideal for E-bikes used for exploring off-road trials. Yamaha’s motors always provide a good support under less pedaling forces.

Featuring Smart Assist technology, using six sensors, allows the motor to produce power based on the riders input and the terrain. You can simply ride the same way you normally would, but with more power.

Through the RideControl ONE you can choose bewteen 5 different power modes, increasing amounts of support based on how much power you put into the pedals. The motor is limited to 32km/h, which is plenty fast enough for most conditions off road.

There’s also a walk mode for when you need to push your bike along a sidewalk or hill.

EnergyPak Battery

The E+ 1 and E+ 2 level bikes are fitted with a 500wh EnergyPak (battery) which is integrated cleanly into the frame. It’s small and lightweight, so it’s easy to carry, and can be charged on or off the bike.

The EnergyPak is equipped with an advanced Battery Management System for continuous communication between the battery and charger for optimised charging. Using Giant's 4A charger, the battery can be charged up to 80 per cent in just 2.2 hours.

The range from a full charge varies greatly depending on terrain, evaluation, weather and rider weight. Generally, in the lowest power mode, you would expect to get up to 120km, and 100km from the lesser 400wh battery in the E+ 3 model.

RideControl DASH

The all-new RideControl Dash remote uses smart integration, combining key functions into one easy to use unit to control key functions, including power mode buttons and Walk Assist button. Plus, the handy USB charging port lets you recharge conveniently. The display displays key riding data, showing you your speed, distance, time, cadence, and battery capacity.

Giants own e-Bike App makes it possible to connect your phone to the RideControl ONE. It differentiates itself from other cycling apps with three core functions including tuning possibilities, fitness data and navigation.

Components & Gearing

All models feature a lightweight aluminium frame, Talon E+ 29 delivers comfort and confidence on off-road terrain. The geometry is very similar to Giant’s Talon recreational mountain bikes, giving it a familiar feel.

Equipped with a 100mm suspension fork to smooth out the bumps, 29-inch tubeless wheels give it a stable, balanced ride quality.
