DESCRIPTION
The Bombtrack Audax AL is a light allroad bike built on a hydroformed, double-butted 6061-T6 aluminium frame with a full carbon fork. The butting profiles are optimised to save weight, while an ovalised top tube and dropped seat stays add compliance for long days in the saddle. Microshift's 11-speed drivetrain runs a 40T chainring against an 11-46T cassette with a clutched rear mech, so climbs stay manageable and the chain stays quiet over rough surfaces. WTB Horizon 650B x 47 mm tyres smooth out broken seal and hard-packed gravel, making it a comfortable choice for long New Zealand road and allroad rides.

Who Is the Bombtrack Audax AL For?
This is aimed at the long-distance rider: audax events, all-day loops and the kind of ride where comfort over six hours matters more than a fast first hour. The compliance built into the frame and the 47 mm Horizon tyres take the edge off chipseal and gravel alike, and the wide-range 11-46T cassette means you are not forced out of the saddle on every pinch.
At 10.4 kg it stays light enough to enjoy on sealed roads, which suits New Zealand routes that mix tarmac with gravel connections. Mechanical TRP brakes and Microshift shifting keep running costs sensible and are easy to service, and the fender mounts make it a credible winter road bike as well.
