Bombtrack Beyond 2 Adventure Bike

The Bombtrack Beyond 2 takes the 4130 chromoly Beyond frame and adds a permanent lighting system: a Supernova E3 Pure 3 headlight and E3 tail light running off a KT dynamo front hub, so you never charge a light again. A Bombtrack Deck aluminium front rack is fitted as standard, and SRAM's Apex 1x11 drivetrain with an 11-42T cassette keeps shifting simple under load. Panaracer GravelKing SK tyres in 27.5 x 1.9" or 29 x 2.0" roll quickly on gravel while still handling rougher ground. For New Zealand touring it arrives ready for early starts, late finishes and a load on the front.

Who Is the Bombtrack Beyond 2 For?

This is for the rider who tours or commutes in the dark often enough that battery lights have become a nuisance. Dynamo lighting runs whenever the wheel turns, which matters on multi-day trips where charging is unreliable, and the front rack is already in place for a bar bag, panniers or groceries.

The 1x11 Apex drivetrain trades the Beyond 1's very low touring gears for simplicity, so it suits riders carrying moderate loads rather than full expedition kit. Through a New Zealand winter it works as a fast, self-sufficient commuter, then converts to a weekend bikepacking bike without changing anything but the bags.
