DESCRIPTION
The Talon E+ 2 EX takes Giant's light electric hardtail and fits it out for daily use. You get the same SyncDrive Sport 2 motor with 75Nm of torque and the same removable 430Wh EnergyPak, plus a MIK-compatible rear rack, mudguards, a kickstand and integrated lights front and rear. The ALUXX SL frame uses hydroforming and gravity casting to come in 13 per cent lighter than the previous generation, which is why the bike still weighs a claimed 21.7kg in size medium without the rack. An SR Suntour XCM32 fork with 100mm of travel and Maxxis Rekon 2.4in tyres mean it is still a capable off-road bike, not just a commuter with knobbly tyres.

Who Is the Giant Talon E+ 2 EX For?
This is the commuter and trekking version of the Talon E+. If your riding is a mix of getting to work, carrying groceries or a laptop, and heading out on gravel or easy trails at the weekend, the EX saves you buying and fitting a rack, guards and lights separately. Everything is integrated properly rather than bolted on afterwards.
New Zealand weather makes a strong case for full mudguards and always-on lights, and the MIK rack system means panniers and baskets clip on and off without tools. The 430Wh battery covers a typical daily commute comfortably, and the 150kg combined load limit leaves plenty of headroom once you add luggage.
